South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Linda Kleindienst is the state capitol bureau chief for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and has been reporting from Tallahassee for 25 years.

A New York native and graduate of the University of Miami, she is a government and politics junkie who has covered eight governor's races and five governors, as well as presidential and U.S. Senate races. Kleindienst is a veteran of the 2000 Florida voting fiasco that led to several
appearances on national and international television and radio.

She has won awards for reporting on elections, hurricanes and education.

She is currently treasurer and scholarship chairman for the Florida Capitol Press Corps and has previously served as president of the Capitol Press Club, Florida Press Club and South Florida Chapter of Sigma Delta Chi.

Her passions are news, horses and family. She is married to David Bruns, state communications director for Florida AARP, and has one daughter, Vicky, a senior at the University of Florida.
